UDON THANI, Thailand – A foreign man is being sought for questioning after CCTV footage reportedly showed him damaging property outside The Pannarai Hotel in Udon Thani in the early hours of 8 September. The hotel has submitted footage and other evidence to Udon Thani Provincial Tourist Police, asking officers to identify the man and summon him to accept responsibility for the reported damage.

The incident happened at about 2.40am outside the hotel in Mak Kaeng subdistrict, Mueang district, Udon Thani, with the man appearing intoxicated as he went on a rampage. The footage shows him walking along the footpath outside the hotel before punching plant decorations, kicking traffic cones and then smashing an illuminated sign at the front of the property, before walking away as if nothing had happened. Hotel manager Suphattra also said the man kicked a car parked outside the hotel, and she provided CCTV footage and details to several news organisations, with Amarin TV later publishing the recording.

Damage to the hotel’s sign has been estimated at between 7,000 and 8,000 baht. The hotel collected the CCTV recording and other evidence before filing its report with Tourist Police. The foreign man’s identity has not yet been established, and local police had not provided a further update on the investigation.
